This should fix your issue of the Harbor Breeze ceiling fan light not working but the ceiling fan works fine. Check to see if you can locate new batteries in your home and replace them. The remote may need to be replaced or it may need new batteries. If you are able to turn on your fan but not control it, then there is a problem with your remote. Unscrew each of the four screws on your old receiver board and remove it.

Remove two screws holding each wire terminal block onto your old receiver board, unplug them, and remove them with their attached wires. Disconnect all wires from your existing receiver board before removing them from its mounting bracket. Be sure to turn off your ceiling fan/light circuit breaker. If you determined that a new receiver board is needed, proceed to the next step. Worn wire insulation might be hiding smaller problems that could put you in danger down the road. While you’re at it, you should also double-check all electrical wiring in your house or business for any other signs of damage or wear-and-tear. Note: Always turn off your ceiling fan before trying to make repairs. But only an electrician can do that safely and legally. If that doesn’t work, your connections may need replacing.

If you notice any loose connections, wiggle them slightly to see if they come back into place.
